Things You'll Need:
- Your brain
- Time
- Material you need to learn
-
Step1
The thing about learning, that most people don't understand, is that your brain only absorbs about 20 minutes of what you're reading or working on, at a time.
So, don't be afraid to take breaks, about every 20 minutes. Get up, walk away, do something else and then go back to it. -
Step2
When you are learning something, work on it over a long period of time. An example, you have test on homework that was assigned and the test is in a week. So, for 20 minutes each day, do some reading or work on what ever assignment you have.
-
Step3
If it's a larger assignment, that requires more time, spend a little more time on it, per day, just remember to take a break every 20 minutes.
-
Step4
Other things that you can do, to help you prepare for a test or exam, are taking good notes. These would be key points of information, that are usually given to you, in class or are highlighted in your text.
-
Step5
Speaking of highlighting, of course if your in high school you can't do this, don't be afraid to highlight points in your book. Book stores, will only give you 50% of the books worth, if you choose to sell it back, even if the book is in perfect condition. Even if their are highlighting marks or pen marks in it, they still give you 50%, of it's worth or I should say what you payed for it any way.
-
Step6
This may sound lame to some, but flash cards, are an excellent way to memorize information. Putting a question on one side and the answer on the other, will trick your mind into learning the information, you need to know and quickly. It's sort of like having a puzzle and putting it together, piece by piece.
-
Step7
So, remember, take a break every 20 minutes, your brain will thank you for it and you'll be impressed, with the grade you get, in the end.
